How to figure out the Usable Drawer Height?

When you have a customer that wants to know the ‘exact’ amount of usable space in a drawer, this is the process on how to figure that out.

  • When in the design tool, click on a cabinet to highlight it. On the left side margin, you will see an ‘Edit’ button just below the cabinet dimensions. By clicking on the ‘Edit’ button you will be routed to the Cabinet Configurator (CC). The cabinet you are wanting to Edit will be shown.
  • Click on the cabinet-This will display the cabinet drawer front dimensions. From here you can use the following calculations to determine the usable drawer space height for the top drawer and any drawer below that.
  • Usable Drawer Height for drawers below the top drawer- Take the overall drawer front height and minus 1 5/16- (1.312) from the overall to get the Usable Drawer Height. So, the only difference in figuring out the usable drawer height is the top drawer you minus an extra 9/32-(.281), for the divider shelf. And all of the drawers below the top drawer, it you just minus 1 5/16- (1.312).
