What to do if a customer is tax exempt?

If a customer is tax exempt, they must submit their tax exempt form before the sale.

Here are the steps that follow:

• Email Brenda the resale certificate if this will be a repeated customer.
• If this is a one time or 2 time buyer, then you will send this certificate to Dale and he will print it out and attach it to the office paperwork. That way there is a paper trail of this certificate.
• Brenda will then upload it to Avalara
• Avalara will verify that the resale certificate is valid.
• Once it is valid, You will mark this customer as "Do not collect Taxes" in Shopify.

You will also make sure that you upload this resale certificate to the person in Pipedrive under "files" and you will also email it to [email protected], to save in a folder that we have.
